But let’s start from the beginning: In his autobiography “I haven’t missed anything”, which appeared in 2017, Walter Plathe officially spoke for the first time about the fact that he was not only attracted to women: “I had the wonderful experience of being able to love more than others, namely women and men “, it says in his book. Bisexuality is part of his life, which is why he did not want to hide anything in his book, he told “Bild” at the time.

According to his biography, he fell in love with a man for the first time in 1977. At this point, however, Plathe was married to his first wife, with whom he also has a son. He ended the marriage for the man he loved. But the relationship did not last forever and in 1999 he married the former GZSZ actress Victoria Sturm, 47, who also played in “Der Landarzt”. They were married to each other until 2008. When he got together with a man for the second time, the series actor is silent. But Plathe never regretted the fact that he was always open about his sexuality: “I had two marriages with women and two marriages with men, so to speak. I never made a secret of it and never had any problems that I was not cast because of it,” said he is now in conversation with “lovable magazine.”
It is not known whether the 70-year-old is currently in a relationship. Nevertheless, he is not completely alone: on the weekends he lives with his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in his weekend house. “During the week I still have my apartment in Berlin, I live there alone,” he told the magazine.
Between 1992 and 2008 Walter Plathe played the leading role in the ZDF series “Der Landarzt”, for which he is best known. In addition, the native of Berlin was also seen in other TV formats such as “Polizeiruf 110”, “Das Traumschiff” and “Kreuzfahrt ins Glück”. He also played from 2010 to 2020 in the series “Familie Dr. Kleist”.
