With Huawei There are already three smartphone manufacturers that today have decided to present a new mid-range device with interesting dorsal cameras grouped in 2×2 grid format together with its LED flash. In this case, Huawei announces the Huawei Nova 8 SE in addition to a variant with a different processor called High Edition.
There is nothing surprising in the design of this midranger although their starting colors are certainly very showy. Huawei and Honor are specialists in this regard. But the Huawei Nova 8 SE also has to offer one of the cheapest processors with access to 5G connectivity and for its price many users will value this cell phone.
Features of the Huawei Nova 8 SE
On its front, the Huawei Nova 8 SE sports a 6.53-inch OLED screen with Full HD + resolution with a 20: 9 aspect ratio. Although unfortunately this display is cut off at its upper end by a notch to house its 16MP selfie camera, the Nova 8 SE is one of the few smartphones that we will find with an OLED display for the same price.
We must add in the paragraph of its appearance that the abrupt termination of its front and back shells, in addition to a plastic frame with sharp ends, makes the Huawei Nova 8 SE an Android smartphone with the appearance of an iPhone.
On its left side edge -from a front perspective- we will find its SIM and microSD card tray and on its right side we will find the always present volume control buttons and lock / power of the screen.
If we do not see signs of a fingerprint reader on the other side, it is because it is located behind the lower edge of the screen. On its back, the Huawei Nova 8 SE only sports a quad camera with wide angle, ultra wide angle, macro and depth lenses respectively paired with 64, 8, 2 and 2MP sensors.
This is the quad camera module we’ve traditionally seen in loads of midrangers announced this year but we added a powerful 64MP sensor instead of a more common 48MP sensor.
Already for the Huawei Nova 8 SE we find all its juice. Its MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor enables competitive performance, while keeping its price in check.
Added to this is an 8GB RAM chip, a 128GB storage chip and a 3800mAh battery that may seem like a small thing given current standards but can be charged from 0 to 100% in less than 30 minutes thanks to a 66W fast charge of power.
Huawei announces the Huawei Nova 8 SE in “Magic Night Black”, “Dark Blue”, “Silver Moon Start” and “Sakura Snow Clear Sky” colors. As for its price, this will depend on the model we choose because on the one hand we have a Huawei Nova 8 SE with a Dimensity 720 chip at an approximate price of US $ 395 and, on the other, a model with a Dimensity 800U at an approximate price of US $ 405.
