The Weeknd will be the main attraction at the 55th Super Bowl halftime show. The Canadian proudly announced this via Instagram.
Great honor for the Canadian Abel Makkonen Tesfaye aka The Weeknd (30, “After Hours”): Like the R&B musician on his official Instagram account, he will heat up the expected billion-dollar audience at the Super Bowl next year as the main act of the halftime show. “I’ll perform on the iconic stage. You’ll see me on February 7th, 2021,” The Weeknd wrote about a picture of himself.
Recently there had been reports that the final of the American football professional league could be postponed due to Corona. The official confirmation of the gig now seems to contradict these rumors. The Weeknd will follow in the footsteps of Jennifer Lopez (51) and Shakira (43), who played the traditionally epoch-making halftime show this year, at the 55th edition of the NFL final.
