Woman reports stolen car, man finds shotgun, jail admissions.
Recently, the Texas County Sheriff’s Department has reported a number of incidents. On January 13, a 46-year-old woman reported that her 44-year-old brother’s 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo had been stolen. She said she had been driving on Highway 32 when she got a flat tire two miles from Pittman’s Store and called for roadside assistance. When she hadn’t heard from them, she sent a family member to look for the car, but it was already gone.
On January 15, a 39-year-old man reported finding a shotgun on top of a barn at his father’s farm on Colburn Road at Cabool. He said some shady people had just been evicted from the location, and the gun had no serial numbers and its barrel might have been cut off.
The Sheriff’s Department has also reported a number of jail admissions. Between January 16 and 22, 18 people were arrested for a variety of offenses, including DWI, forgery, assault, possession of controlled substances, interfering with arrest for a felony, and violating an order of protection.
Overall, the Texas County Sheriff’s Department has been busy responding to a variety of incidents. From theft to possession of firearms, to a range of criminal activities, the department has been working hard to ensure the safety of the county.
