AZ starts on Saturday with Pantelis Hatzidiakos and Timo Letschert in the base at the home game against PEC Zwolle. The Greek defender returns after a year of injuries and Letschert, who has come over from Hamburger SV, makes his debut for the Alkmaarders.

Ron Vlaar, Oussama Idrissi and Jordy Clasie are missing from the selection of AZ, which was eliminated by Dynamo Kiev (2-0) on Tuesday in the preliminary round of the Champions League. The 27-year-old Letschert replaces Vlaar central achrerin and Hatzidiakos takes the place of Teun Koopmeiners, who moves on to midfield.

The well-known names start at the forefront of AZ with Calvin Stengs and Myron Boadu. Albert Gudmundsson completes the attack, in which Idrissi is missing.

The match in the AFAS Stadium starts on Saturday at 4.30 pm and is led by referee Serdar Gözübüyük. It is AZ’s first Eredivisie game this season, after the game with FC Utrecht was postponed last week. PEC started with a 0-2 loss against Feyenoord.
