Students of the Higher Normal School of Haiti they angrily demonstrated this Saturday due to the death of their partner Gregory Saint-Hilaire, who died at the hands of the police, according to his version.

On Friday, students from the government-run university held a protest over political and educational issues, however, an agent of the General Security Unit of the National Palace (USGPN) He shot one of the young men to take his life.

Because of this, this Saturday the students demonstrated in front of the National Palace, setting up barricades with fire and throwing stones at the riot police, who reacted by firing tear gas.

For its part, Association of Professors of the State University of Haiti he condemned the murder and blamed the government, noting that this is not the first time that the police have fired at protesters.

It should be noted that the police authorities indicated that an investigation folder would be opened to clarify the events that ended the life of Saint-Hilaire.
