Prime Minister Erna Solberg will introduce her plan For the reopening of Norway. Bjørn Guldvog, Director of the Health Service, confirmed that both the Norwegian Health Service and the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) provided professional advice.
-We hope we can start the first step of reopening in late May. Guldvog said that it depends on the infection we are in and whether we have planned to vaccinate.
It is up to the government to decide which groups will be given priority in reopening. The government has said that children and young people, as well as working life, will be highly valued.
-Then, we must expect the first relief in these areas.
-Can it be reopened based on the current infection situation?
-Due to the current infection situation and our current limited vaccinations, it is difficult to open it now.But the longer we travel in May, the more people get vaccinated
The health director said that few patients with corona in hospitals and intensive care units can serve as a good basis for reopening.
-Now that we have flattened out a few weeks ago, and have declined slightly, we think this will continue during Easter week, Guldvog said.
The peak of infection was in the 11th week, with 6,500 registered infections. In the past two weeks, infections have decreased.
So far, 5526 people have been registered as infected during Easter Week.
-Is the number of people small because of the Easter holiday, or is it really reduced?
– We think the decline is real, but we can’t be completely sure, Guldvog said:
-Goldwog said that we are very excited after Easter.
