Grand Prix Nuvolari kicks off in Italy

On September 18 in Italy the Grand Prix Nuvolari started for the 30th time – a race in historical cars dedicated to the memory of Tazio Nuvolari, the legendary pilot from the city of Mantua, during his career, which lasted from the mid-20s of the last century to the end of the 40s, who won 150 victories in competitions of various levels.

The race route starts in Mantua, then passes through Rimini, Siena, Arezzo, Urbino and Faenza. More than 150 cars went to the start, which will have to travel more than 1000 km in five regions and 12 provinces of Italy. The Nuvolari Grand Prix lasts three days and finishes on Sunday afternoon in the same place in Mantua. The race involves not only Italians, but also representatives of many other European countries – Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the Republic of San Marirno, Spain and Switzerland.

The cars are also very different – historical Ferraris, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia, Meserati, as well as British Triumph, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Bentley; the German car industry is represented by old Mercedes, BMW and Porsche. At least fifty cars were produced in the pre-war years.

Of particular interest to the public is the unique 1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Grand Sport, in which Nuvolari won the Mille Miglia.
