Those who have bought the virtual reality device of Google You may be somewhat unhappy to read that Google Daydream VR no longer receives official support. That means that if we want to link this equipment with devices running Android 11 or later versions we will not get it to work properly.
When paired with other Google Daydream VR devices, it will continue to work smoothly, only that it will no longer receive official support from Google, which means that it will no longer receive software updates or security updates. But, we repeat, the Daydream app will no longer work on devices with Android 11 or higher.
Google will no longer provide support for your VR device
This decision could be seen coming for those who were updated with the news about Google Daydream. At the beginning of 2020 Google Daydream VR stopped receiving support from all Samsung smartphones running Android 10 or higher. Then Google stopped supporting the Daydream app on the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.
That means that, so far, the only smartphones that will specifically support Google Daydream VR are Google Pixel 3, Google Pixel 3 XL, Motorola Moto Z, Motorola Moto Z2 Play, Motorola Moto Z2 Force, LG V30, Asus ZenFone AR , Huawei Mate 9 Pro and ZTE Axon 7.
Google Daydream VR no longer receives official support from Google and this decision comes months after Hulu, Google Play Movies and Google Play TV will stop working on this device. However, Google has said nothing about stopping supporting other VR devices from the powerful search engine company.
