As a footnote at the recent Google conference, company officials revealed a major update to Google Photos.
Google Photos is one of the most popular Android applications. Most users use it exclusively for backup, to upload their photos in the Google cloud, so that they do not lose them and can access them from other devices or from the browser.
With an update to be released in the next period, Google Photos becomes a powerful photo editing tool. In addition, because you are unlikely to have the patience to improve your old photos through an advanced artificial intelligence mechanism and neural networks, they can be automatically edited.
Starting from the content of the image you displayed on the screen, even the banal self-improvement button will be significantly more useful than in the past, thanks to neural networks. With a simple touch, the right level of brightness and contrast, along with the right effect for portraits, will all be applied automatically. In addition, two new filters with suggestive names, Enhance and Color Pop, will be introduced in a few months.
For professional photographers or more patient users, Google has modified the program’s interface to make it easier for you to interact with it with one hand. All edit buttons are now integrated at the bottom of the screen, on a bar where you can easily navigate.
If you want to illuminate a scene from a photo, after you have immortalized it, you will also have a lot of flexibility through artificial intelligence. The option called Portrait Light includes defining the brightness level, but also changing the position for the virtual light source. It is important to remember that it works on any photo, even if it is from 5 years ago and was immortalized without the Portrait mode. Unfortunately, at least in the first phase, this option will be available in Google Photos only on Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5.
