The Chinese manufacturer seeks to introduce the design of some digital cameras into cell phones.
Xiaomi announced this Thursday the development of a telescopic lens with a retractable design for smartphone camera that allows to capture 300 percent more light than current sensors thanks to its large aperture.
The new lens from the Chinese manufacturer features a similar design to some digital cameras, which allows the lens to be pulled out slightly to focus, as the company showed in the frame of its MIDC 2020 developer conference and as highlighted by a publication on his profile on the Chinese social network Weibo.
The vice president of the Xiaomi group and president of the Mobile division, Zeng Xuezhong, assured during MIDC 2020 that Xiaomi “developed independently and successfully” this lens, telescopic and with large focal length.
Among its greatest benefits, Xiaomi’s telescopic lens allows the camera capture 300 percent more light than current mobile cameras.
It also introduces a new anti-shake technology It produces a more stable image and increases definition by 20 percent, the manufacturer said.
In the video shared on Weibo, Xiaomi also showed the possibilities of the telescopic camera in terms of focus, since it allows you to change manually from close-up details in macro mode to Infinity mode that focuses on the background.
This new lens thus integrates in a single sensor functions that in current telephones are present through multi-lens configurations, with macro lenses for details, wide angles for panoramic images, and telephoto lenses for portraits and the zoom.
