Germany drew against Switzerland in a spectacular Nations League match on Tuesday-evening. The team of national coach Joachim Löw remained 3-3 in Cologne. Spain surprisingly lost in the same group at Ukraine (1-0).

Spain surprisingly loses to Ukraine

Switzerland brutally took the lead against Germany in the RheinEnergieStadion. Mario Gavranovic headed in the opening goal in the fifth minute on the edge of offside and Remo Freuler made it 0-2 barely twenty minutes later with a nice marker over Manuel Neuer.

Shortly afterwards, Timo Werner signed for the connection goal with a shot in the far corner, after which three goals were scored in the second half in a time frame of five minutes. After an interception, Kai Havertz ran towards Switzerland’s goal from the right in the 55th minute and placed the ball in the far corner.

The joy on the German side was short-lived, as Gavranovic fired in 2-3 from a rebound two minutes later. The final chord was shortly after that for Serge Gnabry, who also immediately scored the best goal of the evening.

The attacker worked the ball in the sixtieth minute on a pass from Werner with a heel behind his standing leg. Switzerland finished the game with ten men after Fabian Schär received his second yellow card in injury time.

Due to the spectacular draw, Germany is six points in group 4 of division A after four games. ‘Die Mannschaft’ only beat Ukraine, which surprisingly was 1-0 too strong for Spain on Tuesday-evening.

The only goal of the match in Kiev came in the 76th minute and came in the name of Viktor Tsyhankov. The substitute passed goalkeeper David de Gea, who was too far in front of his goal during a counterattack from Ukraine.

In group 1 of Division C in the Nations League, Luxembourg won 1-2 against Montenegro in a match with three red cards. Azerbaijan and Cyprus played a scoreless draw. In division D, Malta won 0-1 against Latvia, Faroe Islands was 2-0 too strong for Andorra and Liechtenstein-San Marino ended in 0-0.
