Vince Reffet, 36, was known for his success in 2017 when he boarded a flying plane, but also for launching himself from the world’s tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa (828 meters) in Dubai and the flight with an Emirates A380 or the Patrouille de France in 2016.

The accident, which took place at the Jetman base in the desert on the outskirts of the city, is currently being investigated, said Abdullah bin Habtoor.

The success of the athlete, a former member of the French parachuting team and a colleague for twenty years with Fugen (41 years old), went viral at the beginning of the year, with a video in which he appears taking off from the ground and flying up to 1,800 meters altitude , a world premiere. To accomplish this, Vince Reffet was equipped with a carbon fiber wing powered by four jet mini-engines. Controlled by the human body, the equipment allowed Jetman to reach speeds of 400 km / h, float, change direction and perform loops.

Along with his partner, Fred Fugen, Vince Reffet also crossed at the end of 2019 the “Gate of Heaven”, the famous 130-meter-high and 30-meter-wide opening of Mount Tianmen Mountain Park, located in Hunan Province, south China.
