Playing for a Finnish women’s national football team Paula Myllyoja coronavirus infection has been diagnosed, the Finnish Football Association says in a statement.
According to the release, the player’s positive corona test result was clear on Friday afternoon.
Doctor of the Finnish team Pippa Laukka has been in close contact with infectious medicine experts, according to the Football Association.
– Infectious disease authorities and HUS infectious medicine experts have been consulted and are now being closely consulted. We have identified possible exposures and follow-up actions for the rest of the team, Laukka says in the release.
Seven players who may have been exposed to a player who tested positive have been tracked. The infected player had applied for an additional corona test after a corona infection was found on his club team.
The player has been and remains asymptomatic. The team says it continues to follow the corona protocol very carefully.
The team is currently preparing to face Scotland next Tuesday in the European Championship qualifier in Helsinki.
