Feyenoord has to do without Ridgeciano Haps for the time being. The left back has not been training in recent days and is not expected to be available for several weeks.

It is not known what exactly is wrong with 27-year-old Haps. Feyenoord writes in a Thursday statement on the club’s site only that he is not available “for medical reasons” and makes no statements about the seriousness of the injury.

The absence of Haps is a bloodletting for trainer Dick Advocaat, who used the born Utrecht in almost all matches this season. Haps played ten games, including two as a left winger, and has already scored four times.

Last week it was announced that Feyenoord will have to do without Justin Bijlow until the winter break. The keeper is struggling with a foot injury. In addition, Tyrell Malacia (Juniors) and Orkun Kökçü (Turkey) recently returned from the international match with injuries.

It is not yet clear whether they will be able to take action next Sunday when Feyenoord resumes the Eredivisie with an away match against Fortuna Sittard (kick-off 2.30 p.m.). After eight rounds, the team from Rotterdam occupied fourth place, three points behind leader Ajax.
