Wouter Burger will play for Sparta Rotterdam for the rest of the season. The midfielder is hired by the Castle Club from Feyenoord. ADO Den Haag strengthened itself earlier on Friday with Juventus mercenary Dario Del Fabro.
ADO hires defender Juventus
Burger has little prospect of playing time at Feyenoord. He only came into action for five minutes this season. Last season, the nineteen-year-old left leg was already rented out to Excelsior after the winter break.
Sparta has made it to Burger because of the departure of Mohamed Rayhi. On Thursday, he made the switch from the Rotterdammers to Al Batin from Saudi Arabia.
“With Wouter Burger we bring in a multifunctional midfielder who will provide more opportunities in our selection after the departure of Mohamed Rayhi”, says director of football affairs Henk van Stee website from Sparta. “Because it can be used in multiple positions, we also increase competition among ourselves.”
Burger is the ninth reinforcement for Sparta, which previously recorded Benjamin van Leer (Ajax), Lennart Thy (PEC Zwolle) and Tom Beugelsdijk (ADO Den Haag). The club hopes to strengthen itself with an attacker in the coming days.
Earlier in the day, ADO secured the arrival of Del Fabro. The 25-year-old center-back is rented from Juventus for a year.
Del Fabro has been under contract with Juventus since the summer of 2017, which took him over from Cagliari. However, he has not yet played a game for the Italian champion, who has already let him out to Novara, Cremonese and the Scottish Kilmarnock in recent years.
“We are very pleased to be able to present another central defender in the last week of the transfer window,” says technical advisor Martin Jol on the website from ADO. “Dario ensures that we are more widely occupied in the back after the departure of Tom Beugelsdijk, among others.
ADO is quite active in the transfer market. Del Fabro is already the eighteenth reinforcement for the residents of The Hague, who previously brought in Ricardo Kishna (Lazio), Dante Rigo (PSV, rented) and Kees de Boer (Swansea City).
