The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the location of 63-year-old Maria del Carmen Lopez. She was abducted from her home in Mexico on February 9th and has not been seen since. Lopez is a mother of seven with many children living in Southern California who are pleading for her safe return. A family member reported seeing up to five people at the property when she disappeared, but no arrests have yet been made. Her children believe she was targeted opportunistically and had no connection to any criminal activity or gangs.
The FBI is conducting its investigation jointly with Mexican law enforcement authorities as they search for more information about what happened during the abduction of Maria del Carmen Lopez from Pueblo Nuevo Colima.
Anyone who may have any knowledge regarding this case should contact their nearest American Embassy or Consulate immediately, or call (310)477-6565 if you live near Los Angeles where an office branch can be found.
Maria’s daughter Zonia said that there were never threats against them nor did it indicate anything wrong before the incident occurred; thus making it entirely unprovoked which makes them even more worried about their mother’s whereabouts than ever before.
