Even casual followers of Formula 1 must have seen the little blonde lady wrestling around Mercedes Lewis Hamilton, who is none other than pilot trainer Angela Cullen, on race weekends. The soon-to-be seven-time world champion Hamilton won’t win a praise for his New Zealand helper.
“People certainly don’t understand this because they only see it from the outside, but he’s one of the best things that has ever happened to me in my life,” he said of the 46-year-old New Zealand coach, who, like many of his colleagues, is legendary in F1. an elevated Finnish professional who came out of the circle of Hintsa.
“I’ve had the good fortune to work with a lot of people already, but Angela is the hardest working woman I just know. Gathered, selfless, it makes my weekends calm. Every day, whenever I wake up, he is positive, he doesn’t have a single bad day, which is very, very important. ”
“I think it’s important to be surrounded by positive people in life. You don’t have to be someone who pulls you down, it’s not worth being near people who don’t encourage you to be better, who don’t lift when you’re down. We need people who can do that, and he’s just such a person. ”
Hamilton has been working with Cullen since 2016, so the perfect pair came together:
“When one gets into Formula 1, they get to know the concept of physique, but many are simple coaches – although they call themselves physiques, they’re not really physiotherapists. I’ve always had male trainers, but I noticed that I always had something to worry about: tightness in my neck, pain in my waist, buttocks, knowing, and my coach couldn’t handle them, so I was forced to live with them all weekend. ”
“I said to myself that it doesn’t make sense that way, I don’t have to train on the weekends! So it’s time to look for regular physique. Angela dealt with me a bit at home, so I asked if she would like to accompany me on my travels as well. I didn’t know what a great relationship it would be then! ”
