Although Lewis Hamilton pulled in the 92nd victory of his career with relatively little difficulty, there was plenty to see in the back regions at the Formula 1 Portuguese Grand Prix.
At the Portimao track, riders struggled throughout the weekend to stay within corners of the track in bends 1 and 4. As a result, several riders were already penalized 5 seconds during the 66-lap race: Lance Stroll, Romain Grosjean and Danyiil Kvjat also “enriched” by 1-1 penalty points.
Stroll also received two more penalty points for colliding with Lando Norris McLaren. Racing Point Canada can thus leave Portugal with three bad points, the Monza podium in addition to the names of these first units in the last 12 months.

The stewards still had to stay after the race was over, as they invited the other Racing Point driver, Sergio Perez, as well as Pierre Gasly. It is believed that the Mexican defended irregularly against AlphaTauri’s Frenchman in the late stages of the race.
