At Sunday’s Turkish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton pulled in the seventh Formula One World Championship of his career, reaping an unexpected victory. With Ferrast Sebastian Vettel taking 3rd place in the final moments before the finish, the four-time world champion could be German first to personally congratulate his English rival.

Confessed Schumacher fan Vettel later revealed what he said to Hamilton.

“I told him it was very special to us as we could witness the way he wrote history. There is no question that he is the greatest of our time. In my heart, Michael will always be the biggest for me, but there is no doubt that Lewis is the one in terms of the results achieved, ”he recalled to reporters.

Like Hamilton’s victory, Vettel wouldn’t have expected a podium finish before the weekend, so they were already on the podium for the 56th time, more times than any other combination of two F1 riders.
