Romain Grosjean has been with the squad since the Haas team was formed in 2016, but over the past two to three years, instead of results, he has drawn attention to himself mostly with his accidents and complaints.

At Haas, they’re preparing for a racing change, even replacements, by 2021, so it’s probably not the smartest idea for the pilot to (even more) tune the boss against himself, but that’s exactly what happened in Sochi, Grosjean complained about free practice on the car.

“There’s nothing you can do with this car. I’m getting really bored of it all, ”he said on team radio during the race.

When team boss Günther Steiner was asked about his 17th place at the French Russian Grand Prix, he replied:

“What happened to Romain was excellently documented by the TV broadcast. He also makes a statement, so I no longer have to tell or include it in our communication. He said clearly enough what he thought of the car, his health! ”

Grosjean is practically sure to leave Haas, but the position of Danish Kevin Magnussen is also uncertain, it would not be surprising at all if the American team would start by 2021 with a pair of an experienced pilot and a rookie, the former role being a good candidate Sergio Perez or Nico Hülkenberg, and for the latter, one of the technical partner’s self-educated youths, Robert Svarcman of Russia or Callum Ilott of the UK.
