Argentina surpassed this Monday the figure of 800,000 positives detected from COVID-19, after 11,242 cases were added in 24 hours and the total cases are already 809,728, of which 649,017 are recovered patients.
The Ministry of Health also reported that there have been 452 deaths in the last day, and the deaths total 21,468 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The most affected regions
The province of Buenos Aires it remains the district with the most confirmed cases so far (440,405, of which 4,471 were registered this Monday), followed by the country’s capital, with 129,958 confirmed cases, 684 of them registered today.
The province of Buenos Aires and the city of Buenos Aires went from concentrating more than 90% of new cases in May to having a weight close to 50% due to the strong growth of infections in various parts of the interior of the country. The province of Santa Fe (east center) registered 1,670 new cases and Córdoba (center) had 1,188 of them.
Currently, 3,978 people with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 are in units of intensive care, 28 patients more than in the previous day. The percentage of occupation of intensive care beds for all types of pathologies is 62.4% nationwide, 0.5 percentage points more than the previous day.
In Buenos Aires and its populous urban cordon, which form the Metropolitan area of Buenos Aires, the percentage rises to 63.1% of the beds, 0.3 percentage points more than on Sunday.
In the last 24 hours, 20.263 test and since the beginning of the outbreak, 2,084,513 diagnostic tests for this disease have been carried out, which means that 45,937 samples have been carried out per million inhabitants.
The Government last week extended the mandatory isolation measures, with certain flexibilities according to the districts, until next October 11.
