Brazil registered 544 new deaths from COVID-19 In the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths from the disease in the country reached 163,373, according to data released this Wednesday by the Ministry of Health.
According to the daily bulletin issued by this portfolio, in the same period they were registered 48,331 new infections, which raised the total number of infected to 5,748,375.
The Ministry also reported that it has solved part of the technical problems that had been affecting the information systems since last Thursday, which has prevented several of the 27 Brazilian states from updating their daily statistics in recent days.
This Wednesday, only the state of Minas Gerais, in the southeast of the country and the second region with the highest number of COVID-19 cases, could not include its figure of deaths recorded in the last 24 hours in the national system.
However, the portfolio acknowledged that the cases and deaths this Wednesday “may not reflect the accumulated events pending since the stoppage of the information systems officials on November 5 “and that the figures may be altered later.
The number of recovered people of COVID-19 and that of patients who are under medical monitoring, was not updated either and remains at the same level (5,064,344 recovered and 364,575 under medical care) for seven days.
Brazil has been registering a clear slowdown of the pandemic, although it continues as one of the three countries most affected by the coronavirus in the world, along with the United States and India.
