Red Bull Racing driver Alexander Albon loves the Nürburgring, but he is in the mood for cold and rainy weather, and in preparation for the German weekend, he even drove on the kart on the wet track.

Q: What did you do during the break between races?
Alexander Elbon: I didn’t do much because the weather in the UK was not very good. I just stayed at home, relaxed and spent time with my family. But on Saturday I went to the kart track, and it was fun, because on the rental map, on which there were slicks, I drove along the wet track!

Question Formula 1 returns to the Nürburgring, where the Eifel Grand Prix will be held. Do you like this track?
Alexander Elbon: This is a really cool track, I was there in Formula Renault and F3. She has a special character, there are excellent high-speed profiled corners, and the riders always love it.

I think this year the speeds will be very high, although the forecast promises an unimportant meteorological situation – I would not be surprised if it will not be dry at all. It’s worth adjusting to cold and rainy weather, so it’s important to get on the track as soon as possible. The weekend promises to be interesting, but don’t forget to grab your raincoat!

Q: What do you think of Honda’s decision to retire from Formula 1 after 2021?
Alexander Elbon: It is a pity that Honda is going to withdraw from the championship, because it is pleasant to work with Japanese minders, they are very good people. But this news does not affect my preparation for the race weekend. I am a racer and I have to focus on getting things done to end our partnership with Honda as well as possible.
