Dele Alli (24) was to become the big player in Tottenham. Now he is not even in the combat troops. Does he have to leave José Mourinho?
Former Tottenham star Jermaine Jenas says as a BBC expert that he thinks Alli is leaving the club already in this transfer window (which closes on 5 October).
After joining Tottenham in 2015, Dele Alli was named “young player of the year” by PFA, the professional footballers’ organization, in his first two seasons.
Since then, things have not gone as well. Manager José Mourinho has subsequently attended his first training session at Tottenham, in November 2019.
– I asked him if he was Dele or Dele’s brother. He replied that he was Dele. I said “okay, play as Share”.
Now Dele Alli is also out of the national team, and of course really wants to come back there – considering the European Championship finals in the summer of 2021.
On Radio, Jermaine Jenas says:
– I would be worried if I were Dele. He has always been loved by everyone and every manager. No doubt his form has dropped in the last 18 months, he knows it better than anyone else.
– Everything indicates that he disappears, says Jenas.
