Daniel Riccardo: This weekend everyone will have neck pain!

Before the Tuscany Grand Prix, Renault driver Daniel Riccardo spoke about the features of the Mugello circuit, which will host the Formula 1 stage for the first time this weekend.

Question: What do you know about Mugello?
Daniel Riccardo: I am delighted to be able to drive a modern Formula 1 car in Mugello. I competed on this circuit in Formula Renault in 2007 and took part in Formula 1 tests in 2012. The track is fast, smooth and rhythmic, but you have to work hard at the wheel. I think we will all have neck pain due to directional changes in medium speed and fast corners! Will be cool.

Question: Where is the best place to overtake on the track?
Daniel Riccardo: It is difficult to say which sections are best suited for overtaking with current cars. I’ll name the first corner, but I guess we will all try to slow down as late as possible before this long corner.

The last turn is also long and fast – I hope it has several options for the trajectory, allowing you to get close to another car. I think we will have a crazy, but very fun qualification.

Q: What do you think about the last stage in Monza?
Daniel Riccardo: It was one of those races in which we are happy with the result, but we understand that it was possible to achieve more. I think that we performed well and earned points. I overtook and took a high position, but the safety car and the red flags got it mixed up.

The team earned many points in Belgium and Monza. It would be great to keep this trend in Mugello.
