Dominic Calvert-Lewin (23) was named Premier League Player of the Month. And he has scored his first national team goal. The father was full of pride and had to get it out.

On Facebook, Karlda told Scooby Lewin about a long road to success with Everton.

– I had to take a crying six-year-old home from his first test game because he was too shy to play, the father writes

– When he is beaten down, he gets up again. You are not allowed to lie down anyway.

Maybe the father is thinking about what happened when his son as a 17-year-old made his debut in senior football at English level six in 2014 – and was balded down (something he still has scars from today).

The danger continues:

– Rejection is often life’s way to lead you to the path you should be on.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s father thanks those who have believed in his son: Travis Binnion, David Unsworth, Ronald Koeman, Duncan Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti.

– Thank you for believing in him when others did not.

When Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his first national team goal last week, he said it was a shame that the family could not be there.
