Domestic importer Dacia will begin pre-sales of the brand’s first electric car, an urban RV named Spring, on October 15th. The dealer will only comment on the costs, but given the aggressively depressed prices of the brand, it is likely that it will be one of the cheapest – if not the cheapest – electric cars on the market.
The market launch of the model is clearly built around the price: on the one hand, the pre-order can be placed with an advance of HUF 100,000 (the amount will be refunded in full by Dacia if the customer does not order the car in the end), and on the other hand the pre-order can be used during. The latter is good news because the deadline for using the subsidy expires in days, so anyone who hasn’t chosen an electric car yet can even opt for Spring, even though the car isn’t actually on the market yet.
As a reminder: the electric motor of the 373 cm long car is powered by a 26.8 kWh Li-Ion battery pack; its range, measured according to the Spring WLTP standard, exceeds 200 kilometers.
