Portugal defeated Sweden 2-0 in a League of Nations match in Stockholm. Both goals were scored by star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, 35, made history with his first hit, as it is the 100th goal of his national team career.

In the past, only Ali Daei, who scored 109 goals in his Iranian shirt during his career, has achieved a similar achievement in men’s soccer matches.

Before his 1-0 hit, Ronaldo had more goals, but he only managed a free kick at the very end of the first half. Sweden’s Gustav Svensson had been driven out for a second yellow card just moments earlier.

In the second half, Ronaldo finished his career with the 101st national team goal, so he is now eight goals away from Dae’s record.

Ronaldo wore the Portuguese men’s national team shirt for the first time at the age of 18 in 2003. Overall, he has performed in the Portuguese shirt 165 times during his career.

Of the 101 goals Ronaldo made, only 17 have been born in friendly matches. During his career, he has done nine hat tricks in Fifa or Uefa competitions or qualifiers.
