Silvester van der Water thinks it is a pity that there is a lot to do about the way in which he signed out for the match of Heracles Almelo against Willem II on Sunday. The attacker informed trainer Frank Wormuth via WhatsApp that he would not participate.
Wormuth added before the game in Tilburg FOX Sports that he had last heard something from Van der Water on Saturday evening, who had unsubscribed via an app. Heracles’ coach spoke of a refusal to work and found the winger’s action “adolescent”. Technical director Tim Gilissen was also negatively surprised.
According to Van der Water, transfer problems are the reason for his absence. The born Blaricummer enjoys interest from the American Orlando City, but Heracles has not yet reached an agreement on a transfer fee with the club from the MLS.
“Unfortunately it has to go like this”, Van der Water responded on Sunday evening RTV East on the resulting fuss. “On Friday we spoke extensively with the management of Heracles about how we will deal with the offer (s) from Orlando. Clear agreements have been made about this.”
“When I heard from my agent on Saturday evening that there was still no contact with Orlando, I made this decision. Not to force anything, because I also realize what will make it loose. I’m back on the training and we’ll see how it develops further. “
Van der Water’s contract with Heracles will continue until mid-2021. The attacker scored last week against ADO Den Haag (2-0) in the first game of the new Eredivisie season. He has 40 official matches to his name so far for Heracles, in which he scored eleven times and delivered five assists.
