Italian football is in coronavirus alert, after the Genoa will announce 14 positives for COVID-19. The Genoese team detected the massive contagion in the PCR carried out on the team after the match played against the Naples.

The club reported that eight of those fourteen positives correspond to players of the first team, who lost by a resounding 6-0 in the San Paolo stadium in the Neapolitan city.

“The team has activated all the procedures foreseen for the current protocol and reported to the authorities for related procedures. The Club will provide future updates dictated by evolution, “Genoa said in a statement.

The members of the Genoese team and their coaching staff will undergo further testing in the next few hours but, for now, the organizers of Serie A decided suspend shock that the team had to play this Saturday against Torino.

Italian football now trusts that do not appear positive in Naples, which would be a severe setback for the country’s domestic competition.
