Colin Farrell will receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award from Palm Springs International Film Awards

The Palm Springs International Film Festival announced that Colin Farrell will receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award for Actor at Palm Springs International Film Awards. This award was given to him for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Palm Springs Convention Center on January 5, 2023. It will also be open to the public through Jan. 16.

The Banshees of Inisherin tells the dark story of two estranged friends, who try to save each other from a life of crime. Farrell stars alongside Brendan Gleeson, Martin McDonagh, and director.

The film premiered at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival. The film will be released in theaters January 29, 2021.

Farrell has been nominated for an Academy Award®, Golden Globe Award®, SAG Award® and BAFTA Award® for his work in McDonagh’s 2008 film In Bruges. He was most recently seen in Guy Ritchie’s Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin and Tim Burton’s Dumbo. His other film credits include Widows, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Saving Mr. Banks, Dead Man Down, Seven Psychopaths, Horrible Bosses, Crazy Heart (for which he received a Golden Globe Award®), Ondine, In Bruges (SAG Award® nomination), Miami Vice, Alexander and Minority Report.
