At the stage in Turkey, the McLaren team performed well, earning a lot of points, and now its drivers intend to repeat this in Bahrain.
Lando Norris: “We end the season just as we started it – with a series of three races in a row, separated by weekly intervals, and I want to quickly get into the rhythm that the schedule requires. It will not be easy for us, because there have been no such episodes for some time, but we intend to give our best.
The race in Turkey showed that we are still in the struggle, and the circumstances can develop as you like. We just have to work effectively in each session, and most importantly, fully focus on work.
Usually on the track in Bahrain, the fight goes wheel to wheel, and there are many opportunities for overtaking, especially thanks to the three DRS zones. I remember last year: the Bahrain Grand Prix was then one of my best races, it was then that I earned the first points in Formula 1. Hopefully, this weekend we can earn them too, because a series of three races is important to start well.
Carlos Science: “In Turkey we managed to win back great, but more importantly, we earned points for the team. Stability will be a key factor in the remaining three races. We want to earn as many points as possible and intend to fight until the very finish line of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
But now we are waiting for two stages in Bahrain, so the final series of three races in a row promises to be very intense. The calendar this year was very tight, so it will be a bit tough for us, but the team is ready for this.
I’ve always liked the track in Bahrain, and I’m already looking forward to two races on different ring configurations. “
Andreas Seidl, Team Leader: “We are heading to Bahrain, where the final series of three Grand Prix in a row will begin, ending the season. Three exciting and challenging races await us, and two of them will be in Bahrain, which is of particular importance for McLaren (56% of McLaren’s shares are owned by the Bahraini Mumtalakat Holding Company), after which the season finale will be held in Abu Dhabi.
Since behind several series of three races in a row, we know what awaits us. Of course, the tasks remain the same, and the team is ready to solve them. We know how strong our rivals are, so we must maximize the potential of the machine – this is what we will focus on. It is also necessary to ensure reliable operation of equipment, not to miss opportunities to achieve success and continue to earn points. “
