Bowers & Wilkins releases improved Pi5 S2 and Pi7 S2 earbuds.
Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) has released two new models of noise-canceling earbuds: the Pi5 S2 ($299) and Pi7 S2 ($399). Both are available starting January 25 and feature improved battery life, better Bluetooth connectivity, and new color options. The Pi7 S2 has a claimed 5 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, while the Pi5 S2 has a stated battery life of five hours. The Pi7 S2 also has a 16-hour charging case for a total of 21 hours of use, while the Pi5 S2 has a 19-hour charging case for a total of 24 hours of use. Bluetooth operating distance has increased to 25 meters (about 82 feet) for both models.
The earbuds are controlled via the B&W Music app, which also gives users access to several streaming services like Qobuz, Tidal, and Deezer. Both models offer active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance, and wear sensors for music auto-pause and resume. The Pi7 S2 also has a Bluetooth transmitter function inside its case, which can be used to connect the earbuds to an analog or digital source.
The new earbuds from B&W offer small but welcome improvements over their predecessors. The improved battery life, better Bluetooth connectivity, and new color options make them attractive options for those looking for a high-quality pair of noise-canceling earbuds.
