One of the first things that happened when the lockdowns due to the first wave of the coronavirus arrived in all Western countries was shortages and queues in supermarkets. Now, in the United Kingdom they are beginning to show symptoms that portend a similar situation.
According to the Daily Mail, two of the main supermarket chains in the country, Tesco, Asda, Ocado and Sainsbury’s have multi-day waiting list for home delivery, something that already happened in the first confinement.
The constant rumors of a second confinement would be leading citizens to stockpile food making use of the home delivery service.
At the very least, the prime minister is expected to Boris Johnson announce more restrictions due to the advance of the second wave of the coronavirus, a wave that Johnson blames on citizens, despite his constant calls for people to go to offices to work and bars to consume.
What is not yet considered, and is considered a last option, it is the closing of the schools.
