Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz is still waiting for his first victory in the Bundesliga this season. The Dutch trainer also saw his team draw the second league match on Saturday, this time 1-1 against RB Leipzig. Borussia Dortmund ran into a surprising 2-0 defeat on a visit to FC Augsburg.
Dortmund down against new leader Augsburg
Leverkusen started the new Bundesliga season last week with a 0-0 draw against VfL Wolfsburg. In the first home game, ‘Die Werkself’ did not get further than a division of points, although the goals were very nice.
Leipzig, which finished third last season and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, took the lead in the BayArena after fifteen minutes. Emil Forsberg fooled his opponent and rammed the ball into the roof of the goal.
Leverkusen’s equalizer five minutes later was also great. Kerem Demirbay released a rock-hard mop ball from outside the penalty area, which hit the bottom of the crossbar.
In the remainder of the game, Leverkusen was the parent and Bosz’s team also got the most chances, but scored no more.
With two points from the same number of duels, Leverkusen is anonymously in the middle bracket with an eleventh place. Leipzig is currently third with four points from two games.

Augsburg, which narrowly avoided relegation last season, took the lead in-house against Dortmund five minutes before half time by Felix Uduokhai, who headed on a pass from Daniel Caligiuri. Ten minutes after the break, Caligiuri was responsible for the 2-0 for the team of captain Jeffrey Gouweleeuw.
The surprise victory over Dortmund, last season’s number two, makes Augsburg the first team to win its first two games this Bundesliga season. This makes the team the leader in Germany for a while.
Later this weekend, Bayern Munich, Hoffenheim and SC Freiburg can also score six points from two games. The reigning national champion from Bavaria would in that case take over the lead again on goal difference after the 8-0 monster victory over Schalke 04 in the first round.
Arminia Bielefeld, with Mike van der Hoorn within the lines throughout the game, won 1-0 against Kingsley Ehizibue’s FC Köln and is currently fourth. With Jeremiah St. Juste in the starting line-up, FSV Mainz 05 lost 1-4 to VfB Stuttgart, while Sheraldo Becker took a point with Union Berlin on a visit to Borussa Mönchengladbach (1-1)
