Bayer Leverkusen started the new season in the Bundesliga on Sunday with a draw. The team of coach Peter Bosz took a point to visit VfL Wolfsburg.
Basic player Bakker wins with PSG
In a mediocre first half, Leverkusen and Wolfsburg posed hardly any danger. Wout Weghorst got a good chance on behalf of the home team shortly before half time, but his effort was stopped by goalkeeper Lukás Hrádecky.
After the interruption, Admir Mehmedi found the net for Wolfsburg, but his goal was disallowed for offside. On the other hand, Moussa Diaby failed to seize the greatest opportunity for Leverkusen.
Weghorst played the entire match at Wolfsburg and Daley Sinkgraven was replaced fifteen minutes before time at Leverkusen. Patrik Schick, who was taken over from AS Roma, made his debut with the visitors halfway through the second half.
Earlier in the day, RB Leipzig was 3-1 too strong at home for FSV Mainz 05. Emil Forsberg (penalty), Yussuf Poulsen and Amadou Haidara scored on behalf of the home team and Jean-Philippe Mateta was accurate at Mainz. Jeremiah St. Juste completed the ninety minutes with the visitors, with Jean-Paul Boëtius filling in more than twenty minutes before time.

In France, Paris Saint-Germain finally booked a smooth victory. After defeats against RC Lens and Olympique Marseille and the oppressive 1-0 victory over FC Metz, the game ended with OGC Nice in 0-3.
Just like against Metz, Mitchel Bakker was in the base. The twenty-year-old left back played the entire game and received a yellow card just before the end.
Kylian Mbappé opened the score from a penalty in the 38th minute, after which Ángel Di María made it 0-2 just before half time. After an assist from Di María, Marquinhos closed the game after more than an hour of play.
