Beyoncé’s gesture, one of the world’s most influential figures in popular culture, can be seen as an additional impetus in the Democrats’ final offensive to reclaim Texas, a traditional Republican state.

The last Democratic candidate to win this southern US state was former President Jimmy Carter, almost half a century ago.

The latest poll conducted by Real Clear Politics gives Donald Trump as the virtual winner, at a difference of 2.3 points, so that the loss of this state would be a lethal blow for the current president.

For Texas Democrats, the support announced by Beyoncé, born in Houston in 1981, has become an important landmark on the last straight line of the campaign.
