The Chevrolet driver took everything from Alta Gracia, Córdoba, a province where most of the structures that make up the most technological category in the region are based.
The Super TC2000 returned to its place of origin this weekend. It can be said that it ran from premises, since most of the structures that make up the most technological category in the region are located in that area of Cordoba. And at the Oscar Cabalén racetrack, Chevrolet imposed its rhythm, this time in the hands of Bernardo Llaver, what took the two victories of the date in the Mediterranean province.
A great achievement for the official Chevrolet team, which commands Alberto Canapino and that he had already found triumph with his son, Agustín, in Buenos Aires. This time the Super TC2000 developed the date in Alta Gracia and with solidity, patience and a low profile, Llaver was the absolute protagonist of an unforgettable weekend for the San Martín, Mendoza rider.
Llaver held at the top of the podium at a racetrack without an audience (there was behind closed doors), under strict provincial and category health protocols. The podium was completed by Toyota drivers Ricardo Risatti, from the Midas team, and Julián Santero, from Gazoo Racing.
After his triumph in the qualifying race, Llaver took advantage of his status as poleman for the grand final, in which he did not give rise to any chance of a fight for his rivals. He won from end to end, seamless in a complex start to the race, since the changing track conditions (unstable weather, with drizzles and wet asphalt at times), removed the reference for who commanded the peloton.
The start was one of the moments of greatest anxiety, since in the first row was the Toyota Corolla of the returnee Franco Vivian. With a great performance in the weekend rehearsals, the pilot was stopped in the game. Fortunately nobody impacted him, although it was relegated to last place.
The race lacked the brilliance they wore in the two initial competitions at the Gálvez porteño. It was very linear, without moments of major shocks, beyond the surpass of Matías Rossi (Toyota), leader of the championship, to the champion Leonel Pernía (Renault).
Further back, good progress of Matías Muñoz Marchesi, until he suffered a touch from his Fiat teammate, Franco Girolami, and left the racetrack in anger. The recovery of the Brazilian Rubens Barrichello with the Toyota (he finished 10th) and the “applause” in the fight between Vivian and José Manuel Urcera (Chevrolet) for 13th place was highlighted.
After achieving the sixth victory in the category (one of them when he was still TC2000), Llaver confessed: “I am very happy for this victory. (Alberto) Canapino did an impressive job this break. It makes me very happy for the guys on the team. My dad must be crazy watching the race in Mendoza ”.
The winner explained his triumph: “The first two laps were difficult, because there was no reference, due to the condition of the track. Then I went deep throughout the race. Risatti didn’t hit when he approached her. We will see now with this victory to fight for the championship ”.
Risatti’s second place is highly celebrated. Not just because of the Laboulaye rider, but because of the category in general. “Caito”Runs for the Midas team, a structure that is satellite to the official Toyota Gazoo Racing team, showing that the teams Private parties can measure up to the most powerful. As Urcera did on Saturday, with Luciano Monti’s private Chevrolet.
Rossi accumulates good points to stay ahead in the contest. “The end result is good. I was wanting more. He wanted to catch up with Santero to fight for the podium. But they are good points. We are at a great level, at least that is how it was demonstrated in Buenos Aires and Córdoba. There are little things to improve for next weekend ”.
Behind came the last Super TC2000 champions: Pernía (Renault), Canapino (Chevrolet) and Facundo Ardusso (Renault).
The Super TC2000 is still in action. Little rest in the workshops, taking advantage of the fact that they are close to the racetrack, since next weekend there will be a double date. Everyone knows that with the number of points at stake (double this weekend), there is no room for stumbling. Same racetrack but another circuit to continue with the Cordoba experience, in times of pandemic.
Matías Cravero prevailed in the competition that the TC2000 performed at the Alta Gracia racetrack, in the company of the Super TC2000. The local driver won with Citroën, followed by Facundo Marques and Eugenio Provens.
In the Formula Renault 2.0 won Eduardo Moreno (leader of the championship), with a podium from Jorge Barrio and Mateo Polakovich.
