Former U.S. President Barack Obama, 59, will publish the book on November 17th. This is the first part of his two-part memoirs.
The future work bears the name A Promised Land (suom. Promised land). According to the publisher, the original work in English has almost 800 pages.
The book will be published simultaneously in 25 languages worldwide. The Finnish version is published by Otava. The date of publication of the second part of the memoirs has not yet been revealed.
The United States will hold presidential elections on November 3rd. The Obama book will only be released after the election, according to his spokesman, as the ex-president wants to focus on supporting his former vice president, Joe Biden, without interruption.
Obama’s memoirs have been long awaited, as a publishing agreement for them was signed as early as 2017. Obama himself shared the news On Twitter saying he is proud of his output.
“In the book, I try to provide an honest account of my presidency, the forces we face as a nation, and how we can improve our dividing lines and make democracy work for the benefit of all,” the president writes.
Barack Obama served as the 44th President of the United States from 2009-2017. He was the country’s first and so far only black president.
Autobiography of President Michelle Obama Becoming (suom. My story) was the best-selling book of 2018 in the United States.
