The famous production designer Ron Cobb died at 83. His works and collaborations include the DeLorean of Back to the Future and the spaceship of Alien, The Abyss, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and many others.

He passed away at 83 in Sydney, where he lived, as a result of Lewy body dementia, one of the great Hollywood production designers, Ron Cobb. His name is known to all cinema fans for his contributions to many science fiction films. Among these the most famous are the work as a consultant for the creation of the DeLorean from Back to the Future and the interior and exterior of Nostromo’s spaceship Alien.

Ma Cobb also drew several of the creatures for the bar scene in the first Star Wars, the terrestrial colony of Aliens, weapons and sets of Conan the barbarian, the diving helmets of The Abyss, the bombs of True Lies and many other iconic objects and sets, including the interior of the alien spaceship of Close encounters of the third kind. He is credited with the idea of ​​the acid blood of the xenomorphs of Alien. With Spielberg he had also worked on Raiders of the Lost Ark, and had collaborated on Act of force di Paul Verhoeven.

Born in Los Angeles in 1937, he began his career as an animator, working as an interlayer in The Sleeping Beauty of Disney.
