AZ loses flavor maker Oussama Idrissi to Sevilla in the last days of this transfer period. According to it AD in WE the Alkmaarders have reached an agreement with the Spaniards on a transfer fee of 12 million euros (excluding bonuses).

The 24-year-old Idrissi is still under contract with AZ until mid-2022. The attacker did not play in the Eredivisie this season due to an injury to an abdominal muscle. He did participate in the matches against Viktoria Plzen (3-1 win) and Dynamo Kiev (2-0 loss) in the preliminary round of the Champions League.

With the departure of Idrissi, AZ loses one of its most important players. The two-time international of Morocco has been wearing the shirt of the Alkmaarders since January 2018. Since then he has played 98 official matches, in which he scored 37 times and gave 25 assists.

Before his period at AZ Idrissi was under contract with FC Groningen, where he also started his career. For the ‘Pride of the North’, the former youth player of Feyenoord came to 64 official matches and scored thirteen goals.

Idrissi is not the first basic player from the successful last season to leave this transfer period at AZ. Defender Stijn Wuytens (Lommel SK) also opted for an adventure abroad. It is not known whether AZ will get a replacement for Idrissi before the close of the transfer market (Tuesday at 11:59 pm).

Thanks to his transfer to Seville, where he will become a teammate of Luuk de Jong, Idrissi can still make minutes in the main tournament of the Champions League next season. The Europa League winner is in a group with Chelsea, FC Krasnodar and Stade Rennais.
