In the draw for the group stage of the Europa League, AZ has been hit hard with Napoli, among others, as an opponent. PSV was linked to PAOK on Friday and Feyenoord will play in the group against CSKA Moscow.
PSV has won against PAOK twice before
PSV continues to compete in group E against the Spanish Granada and Omonia Nicosia from Cyprus. AZ will also meet the Spanish Real Sociedad and Rijeka from Croatia in group F.
Feyenoord also has to go to Croatia to play against Dinamo Zagreb and will face Wolfsberger AC from Austria in group K.

PSV faced PAOK twice before at the beginning of this century and that ended well in both cases. In the first knockout round of the UEFA Cup in the 2000/2001 season, PSV won 3-0 at home and 0-1 in Thessaloniki.
A year later, in the same round of the tournament, they lost 3-2 away and won 4-1 at home. With Diego Biseswar, PAOK has one Dutch player in its selection.
Granada finished seventh in La Liga last season and plays European for the first time in club history. PSV also never played against Omonia before. The club from Cyprus lost this week in the Champions League play-offs to Olympiacos of Greece.
AZ never played against Napoli, Sociedad and Rijeka before. The Croatian club played against Feyenoord in the group stage in 2014 and won 3-1 at home and lost 2-0 in Rotterdam.

Feyenoord meets an old acquaintance with CSKA Moscow. In 1996/1997, the Rotterdammers were too strong for the Russians in the first round of the UEFA Cup (from 0-1, at home 1-1). In 2008 CSKA won 1-3 in the Europa League in De Kuip.
