The Yakima Police Department has confirmed that Jarid Haddock, the 21-year-old suspect in the fatal shooting of three people at a convenience store in Yakima, Washington, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he borrowed a cell phone to call his mother. The woman who lent the phone to Haddock allegedly overheard him make several incriminating statements, including “I killed those people.” She was able to get her phone back and call 911, and officers arrived at the location shortly after.
