A person has been injured by several shots This saturday near an orthodox church in the French city of Lyon, as confirmed by police and emergency sources to the medium ‘Lyon Magazine’.

The incident has taken place around 4:00 p.m. in the rue de Saint-Lazar and the victim has been transferred consciously to the hospital, with “damage to the abdomen.”

In the area, which is cordoned off by law enforcement, the priest was evacuated on a stretcher and his life is in danger, police sources indicated. According to the television station “BFMTV”, the injured man is a 52-year-old priest of Greek origin.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the aggressor carried out two shots with a rifle with a clipped barrel when the religious was preparing to close his church, a Greek Orthodox temple located in the 7th district of the third city of France, in the neighborhood known as Jean Macé.
