According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and MTI information, the city of Ganja was attacked and one civilian was killed and four others were wounded in the military strike.

Armenia denied that its forces had attacked the city of 335,000. Arajik Harutjunjan, the leader of Nagorno-Karabakh, however, said their troops had destroyed an air base in the Azerbaijani city. Armenian reported that fighter jets carrying out attacks in Nagorno-Karabakh had taken off from the military airport near Ganja.

Harutjunjan also reported on Twitter that Azerbaijani forces had once again attacked “civilian targets” in Stepanakert.

A week ago, fighting broke out between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed affiliation of Armenians, but officially part of Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh. The fighting has claimed more than 200 deaths and injuries, according to Armenian sources, with the Azerbaijani party reporting 19 civilian deaths and 60 injuries.

The great powers, Russia, the United States, France and the European Union for the time being, the parties have been called in vain to end the fighting.
