Although they are small wrist computers, smart watches have had, from their origins, a clear orientation: the fitness. But curiously we never saw a full integration of this type of device with articles from the same category. Well, that could come to an end as the Apple Watch would be integrated into a Peloton bike.
Peloton is one of the most recognized brands in the field of home exercise. Treadmills, stationary bicycles, elliptical trainers, all kinds of equipment for lovers of the fitness at home and that has earned it singular popularity in the current times of global quarantine. But its products could become more popular if a deal is struck with Apple.
How could the Peloton Bike + take advantage of the Apple Watch integration?
At the moment, all the information regarding an agreement between Peloton and Apple to integrate their products comes from a report from the site Bloomberg. The details are scarce but everything seems to indicate that this will happen sooner or later. And it could happen as soon as Peloton announces its new stationary bike.
The Peloton Bike + would have all the mechanical advantages of its products, in addition to a larger screen for monitoring the statistics of our exercise routine. But the novelty is that this screen would allow us to connect with our Apple Watch and thus be able to extract even more statistics such as our heart rate and blood pressure.
The connection would be made through the GymKit app of the Apple Watch itself, but that is all that is known about it so far. A novelty since Apple Watch had already sought to integrate into other fitness products such as those from Orangetheory, who for their part offered a special app to link us with the Apple smartwatch.
If it is true that the Apple Watch would be integrated into a Peloton bike, then it will make more sense to mention an app called GymKit Express that was found in the source code of iOS 14.
