Apple executives continue to implement their policy of helping medical workers launched in March and are increasing their assistance in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Tim Cook has just announced assistance measures for the manufacture of protective masks for medical staff, as well as more donations to respond to the current crisis.
More than a week ago, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that he had purchased and donated 10 million masks from healthcare professionals. He just confirmed via Twitter that today’s number has exceeded 20 million. These skins are purchased through Apple’s supply chain.
It also revealed that Apple has designed its own personalized protector for medical staff. Cook said that last week, the first batch of masks arrived at Caesars Hospital in the Santa Clara Valley, and the response of medical staff was incredible.
Apple expects to reach 1 million mask shipments by the end of this week, and 1 million more masks thereafter.
