A 65-year-old man has been charged with negligent homicide for allegedly having pushed and caused the death of an old man who reproached him for not wearing the mask in a bar near the city of Buffalo (New York, USA).
According to several local media, the suspect, Donald Lewinski, was arrested on Monday and was due to appear this Tuesday before a judge for the death of Rocco Sapienza, of 80 years, and that he died last week, several days after the incident.
The two men were regular at the establishment where the events occurred and had been there for several hours before the clash, which apparently occurred at the Lewinski’s refusal to wear a mask when he approached the bar to order.
The Prosecutor’s Office explained that, according to the images collected by security cameras from the bar, the man He got up from his table several times without covering his face, until the owner of the establishment approached to speak with him.
At that moment, Sapienza put on his mask and approached them, but Lewinski gave him a strong push that made him fall and hit his head against the ground, being unconscious.
The old man underwent brain surgery, but never regained consciousness until he passed away last Thursday.
