Last weekend, Aldon Smith, the defensive end of the Seattle Seahawks, was targeted for an arrest warrant related to an attack on a cafe in New Orleans.
St. Bernard County Attorney General Perry Nicosia told ESPN that the victim was allegedly strangled to death by Smith until he lost consciousness. She was taken to a local hospital where she was reportedly seriously injured.
Smith signed a one-year deal with Seahawks two days before the alleged attack. Seattle Training declined to comment on this incident.
The 31-year-old defensive end made a comeback with the Dallas Cowboys after a five-year absence last season. In 16 games, he played 5 sacks and 48 tackles, including 14 against quarterbacks.
Smith became the No. 1 pick of the San Francisco 49ers (7th overall) in 2011, and his off-court shots have doubled in recent years. He was arrested several times for inconvenient driving, car crashes and domestic violence.
